Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and committed SEND Teacher to join a well-established specialist school in Knowsley from September. This full-time role is ideal for a teacher who is passionate about inclusive education and is looking to make a genuine difference in the lives of children with additional needs. You’ll become part of a dedicated and supportive team focused on helping every pupil thrive both academically and personally.

The school provides specialist education for pupils with a variety of complex learning needs. Staff work collaboratively to deliver personalised learning experiences that promote confidence, independence, and positive outcomes for every child.

The Role

  • Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of small classes of approximately 6–8 pupils.
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and structured classroom environment where pupils feel supported to learn and develop.
  • Encourage pupils’ academic, social, and emotional progress through tailored teaching strategies and positive relationships.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and other professionals to provide a consistent and effective approach to learning.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Has experience working within SEND education or is eager to develop a career within a specialist setting.
  • Demonstrates resilience, patience, and empathy when supporting children and young people with additional needs.

Requirements

  • Able to provide references covering the previous five years.
  • Holds an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or is willing to obtain one.
