Job Description

£465 – £480 Weekly Pay (PAYE – No Umbrella Company)

A fantastic opportunity has come up for a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and inclusive primary school in Bredbury, Stockport. New Directions are working on behalf of the school to find someone who can provide high-quality support to pupils with additional needs. This is a full time and long term role working 8:30am-3:30pm Monday to Friday, starting ASAP.

About the school & role

• A welcoming mainstream primary school in Bredbury, Stockport, with Nursery provision and 150+ pupils aged 3–11.
• The school has a strong inclusive approach to SEND, supporting children with a range of needs including communication and interaction, cognition and learning, SEMH, and sensory and physical needs.
• You will work alongside the class teacher and SEND team to provide targeted, individualised support, helping children access learning, develop confidence and build their independence both academically and socially.

The ideal candidate

• Previous experience working with SEND pupils in a mainstream primary setting is preferred, with a good understanding of how additional needs can affect learning and behaviour.
• Experience supporting children with autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language difficulties or cognition and learning needs would be highly beneficial.
• The school is looking for someone who is patient, nurturing and adaptable, with the confidence to build strong relationships with pupils and tailor their approach to individual needs.
