New Directions is currently recruiting for a qualified Early Years Teacher on behalf of a vibrant and inclusive primary school in the Kirkheaton area. This full-time position is set to begin as soon as possible, till the end of the school year and continuing in September.
As the Reception Teacher, you will be working within the Early Years Foundation Stage, nurturing children aged 4–5. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a child-centred environment and is committed to delivering creative, engaging, and high-quality early years education.
Early Years Teacher Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons in line with the EYFS curriculum
Support children’s personal, social, and academic development through structured and play-based learning
Monitor and assess pupil progress, maintaining accurate records
Build strong, professional relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and the wider school team
Create a safe, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment
Early Years Teacher Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience in an Early Years or Reception setting
Strong understanding of the EYFS framework
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A nurturing and patient approach to working with young children
A commitment to high standards and continuous professional development
