New Directions Education is recruiting for enthusiastic and motivated Graduate Teaching Assistants to work in a welcoming secondary school in South Liverpool. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity ideal for graduates looking to gain practical classroom experience and make a real difference to young people’s lives.

The Role:

  • Supporting teaching and learning across a range of subjects at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Working closely with classroom teachers to help manage behaviour, support student engagement, and provide targeted help to those who need it most.
  • Assisting small groups or individual students, including those with additional learning needs, to help them access the curriculum and achieve their potential.
  • Gaining valuable insight into lesson planning, behaviour management, and the day-to-day running of a secondary classroom.

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Recent graduates (any subject) with a genuine interest in education and working with young people.
  • Individuals who are considering a future in teaching, educational psychology, or youth work.
  • Positive, proactive team players who are confident, patient, and eager to learn.
  • Prior experience working with young people (e.g. tutoring, mentoring, coaching, youth work) is beneficial but not essential.
