Flexible Agency Work | 1-3 Hour Shifts | Various Cardiff Locations

We are currently recruiting reliable and enthusiastic Lunchtime Supervisors to work across a range of primary schools throughout Cardiff on a flexible agency basis.

This role is ideal for individuals with experience working with children or in a supervisory, educational, childcare, care, coaching or customer-facing environment who are looking for flexible, part-time work during school hours.

The Role

As a Lunchtime Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring pupils remain safe, happy and well supervised during their lunch break. Duties may include:

  • Supervising children in the dining hall and playground
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and social interaction
  • Promoting a safe and inclusive environment
  • Responding appropriately to minor incidents and concerns
  • Following school policies and safeguarding procedures
  • Reporting any concerns to the appropriate member of staff

Essential Requirements

Applicants must be able to demonstrate:

  • Previous employment, voluntary work or transferable experience involving responsibility, supervision, customer service or working with children and young people
  • Excellent reliability and punctuality
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work confidently and proactively within a school environment
  • The ability to travel to schools across Cardiff

Important Information

Please note:

  • This is an active role that involves supervising groups of children both indoors and outdoors.
  • Candidates should be comfortable working outside in all weather conditions, including rain and colder temperatures.
  • Shift lengths typically range from 1 to 3 hours per day.
  • Assignments are available across a variety of primary schools throughout Cardiff.

Compliance Requirements

  • Provide one satisfactory employment reference and one additional professional or character reference
  • Complete mandatory Safeguarding Training
  • Be willing to undertake an Enhanced DBS check (paid for by the applicant)
  • Have the right to work in the UK
