Job Description

A primary school based in Birkenhead has approached New Directions to assist them in finding a teacher to teach their year 5 class. This is an ongoing role to start as soon as possible, continuing through until the summer 2024 and is on a full-time basis.

For this role you must have the following:

  • Excellent classroom management
  • Be able to build strong relationships with staff and students
  • Be organised and keep all marking up to date
  • Have the ability to engage all students in their learning and create exciting lesson plans

The staff within this school work closely with their students, ensuring that they strive for success. They dedicate themselves to creating a learning environment which allows each students talents and abilities to shine.

We recruit primary teachers for jobs in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2) primary teacher job roles.

As a primary school teacher you’ll be expected to:

  • Teach all areas of the school curriculum or your subject specialism
  • Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
  • Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
  • Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
  • Maintain discipline
  • Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
  • Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
  • Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
  • Take part in school events and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening
  • Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools
