New Directions Education are currently recruiting final year student teachers who are due to qualify this academic year and are seeking their first primary teaching role for September in Chester. This is an exciting opportunity to begin your teaching career in supportive and welcoming primary schools across the area.
We work with a wide range of schools offering short-term, long-term, and permanent opportunities, providing the perfect platform to gain experience, build confidence, and secure your first teaching position.
Due to the nature of these opportunities, candidates must be able to commit to working 3 or more days per week.
The Role:
• Delivering engaging and effective lessons across EYFS, KS1, and/or KS2
• Supporting pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development
• Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment
• Managing behaviour in line with school policies
• Adapting teaching to meet the needs of all learners
• Assessing pupil progress and providing feedback where required
• Working collaboratively with support staff and school teams
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
• Be a final year student teacher due to achieve Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) this academic year
• Recent teaching placement experience within a primary school setting
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• A proactive, enthusiastic, and reflective approach to teaching
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• A good understanding of safeguarding and the primary curriculum
• A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development
