New Directions Education is working closely with a number of fantastic primary schools across the Harrogate area who are looking for experienced Teaching Assistants to join their teams on a full-time basis. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils in reaching their full potential whilst making a genuine impact on their educational journey.
The Role
As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will:
Support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
Provide 1:1 and small group support for children with SEN
Assist pupils with a range of needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech & Language needs and Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) challenges
Work collaboratively with teachers and SENDCOs to implement tailored learning strategies
Foster a positive, inclusive and nurturing learning environment
Help pupils develop confidence, independence and social skills
What We’re Looking For
Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a primary school setting
Experience supporting children with SEN is essential
A patient, resilient and compassionate approach
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Ability to adapt to the individual needs of pupils
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
