New Directions Education is currently recruiting for enthusiastic and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to work within primary schools across Bradford and the surrounding areas. We are seeking passionate practitioners who can support teaching and learning across the primary age range, delivering high-quality interventions, covering classes when required, and helping pupils achieve their full potential in a positive and inclusive learning environment.

We want to hear from you if you have:
·HLTA Status or substantial experience working at HLTA level within a primary school setting.
· Experience supporting teaching and learning across EYFS, KS1, and/or KS2.
· The confidence to lead whole-class learning in the absence of the class teacher.
· A strong understanding of the National Curriculum and primary education.
· Experience delivering targeted interventions to support pupil progress.
· Excellent behaviour management and classroom management skills.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· The ability to work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, parents, and external agencies.
· A commitment to supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of pupils.
· Experience working with pupils with SEND, SEMH, or additional learning needs would be advantageous.
· A passion for helping children succeed and reach their full potential.
Job Specification
Working as an HLTA can be incredibly rewarding, requiring adaptability, confidence, and a proactive approach to supporting teaching and learning. You will play a key role in raising attainment, supporting classroom delivery, and ensuring pupils receive the guidance and encouragement they need to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead whole-class learning activities and supervise classes during teacher absence.
· Deliver high-quality interventions to individuals and small groups to accelerate pupil progress.
· Support teachers in planning, preparing, and delivering engaging learning activities.
· Adapt learning materials and activities to meet the needs of all learners, including pupils with SEND and EAL requirements.
· Support the assessment, monitoring, and recording of pupil progress.
· Promote positive behaviour and help create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
· Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and targeted support strategies.
· Work closely with teaching staff and school leaders to support pupil achievement and wellbeing.
· Build positive relationships with pupils, encouraging confidence, independence, and resilience.
· Support the delivery of literacy, numeracy, and wider curriculum activities throughout the school day.
· Contribute to the wider life of the school through participation in events, activities, and school initiatives.
· Maintain safeguarding responsibilities and promote the welfare of all children and young people.
