We’re currently recruiting an experienced SENCO to work within schools across Leicester, taking a lead role in ensuring pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities receive the right support to achieve their potential.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced education professional who is passionate about inclusive practice and confident coordinating SEND provision across a school.
The role will include:
Leading and coordinating SEND provision across the school
Overseeing EHCPs, annual reviews and individual support plans
Identifying pupils who may require additional support or intervention
Supporting teaching and support staff with appropriate SEND strategies
Monitoring pupil progress and the effectiveness of SEND provision
Liaising with parents, carers, external professionals and local authorities
Ensuring SEND policies and practices are implemented effectively
Promoting an inclusive approach across the wider school community
What we’re looking for:
Applicants should have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Previous experience working within SEND, ideally as a SENCO, Assistant SENCO or in a SEND leadership capacity
Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice, EHCP processes and statutory requirements
The National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or an appropriate successor qualification, where applicable, or willingness to complete the required SENCO qualification within the relevant statutory timeframe
Excellent organisation, communication and leadership skills
The ability to work collaboratively with pupils, families, colleagues and external professionals
A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people with SEND

📍 Location: Leicester and surrounding areas ⏰ Hours: Full-time / Part-time opportunities available 💷 Pay: £200 – £350 per day, depending on experience and assignment
