A recently graded ‘Strong Standard’ SEND school in Crosby is seeking to appoint a committed and resilient Teaching Assistant to support pupils across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. This is a full-time position with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
The school caters for pupils with additional needs, including those who may present with low-level behavioural challenges. The role will focus on supporting students both academically and pastorally, helping them to remain engaged, build confidence and access learning in a structured and supportive environment.
• Provide 1:1 and small group support across KS3 and KS4 classes
• Support pupils’ academic progress across a range of subjects
• Promote positive behaviour and engagement in line with the school’s ethos
• Work closely with teaching staff and the SENDCo to implement tailored support strategies
• Help create a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment
• Experience working with secondary-aged pupils (KS3/KS4), ideally within a SEND setting
• Confidence supporting pupils with additional needs and low-level behavioural challenges
• A calm, patient and consistent approach to behaviour management
• Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification desirable but not essential
• References covering the last 5 years
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
