Job Description

New Directions Education are currently recruiting a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to work in a welcoming primary school in Winsford. This is a full-time role, ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them to thrive within a mainstream school environment.

The Role:

• Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND
• Supporting children to access learning within a mainstream classroom setting
• Assisting with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation needs
• Implementing individual support strategies and EHCP targets
• Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals
• Promoting positive behaviour and engagement in learning
• Supporting pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development
• Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
• Monitoring progress and contributing to records and feedback

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Experience working with children with SEND (school-based experience desirable)
• A patient, caring, and resilient approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
• A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
• A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
• A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable)
• A full driving licence and access to transport (desirable)
