SEND Teaching Assistant (ASD)
School Type Special Educational Needs School
Age Range of Pupils 5 to 16 years
Location Erdington B24, Birmingham
Contract Type Full-time, Monday to Friday (ONLY APPLY IF LOOKING FOR FULL TIME) 8:30am – 3:30pm Term-time only Long-term opportunity with the potential to become permanent
Pay £92.52 – £102.83 per day £462.60 – £514.15 per week Weekly pay
Job Purpose
We are currently looking for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) within a specialist setting in Erdington.
Key Responsibilities – Teaching & Learning Support
Provide 1:1 and small group support
Support pupils with ASD to engage in learning
Encourage communication and social interaction
Implement individual education plans
Work alongside teachers and therapists
Promote a safe and positive learning environment
Person Requirements
Experience supporting ASD needs
Patient and nurturing approach
Strong communication skills
Ability to build positive relationships
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Two satisfactory references
Qualifications
No formal qualifications required.
Relevant experience including:
