Location: Stockport
Salary: MPS1 – UPS3 (£31,650 – £49,084) DOE  
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Start Date: September 2025

New Directions are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled SENDCO to join one of our partner Secondary Schools in Stockport. This is an exciting opportunity to shape and lead SEND provision across the school, ensuring every student receives the support they need to reach their full potential. The role is a teaching SENDCO position starting in September 2025 and is a permanent vacancy.

The Role

As SENDCO, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading and managing SEND provision across the school.
  • Coordinating support for students with a range of special educational needs.
  • Working closely with teaching and support staff to ensure high-quality teaching for SEND pupils.
  • Developing and implementing SEND policies in line with national guidance.
  • Liaising with parents, external agencies, and the local authority to ensure effective support for students.
  • Maintaining accurate records and overseeing statutory processes including EHCPs and annual reviews.
  • Leading a team of teaching assistants and other SEND support staff.
  • Teaching across KS3 and KS4

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO)
  • Holds QTS or equivalent
  • Has significant teaching experience, preferably in a secondary setting.
  • Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Has excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Is committed to inclusive practice and improving outcomes for all learners.
  • Can work collaboratively and strategically across the school.
