New Directions Education is currently recruiting enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants to work across a variety of primary and secondary schools in the Harrogate area. Due to continued demand from our partner schools, we have a range of flexible opportunities available, including day-to-day supply, long-term placements, and permanent roles.
Whether you are an experienced Teaching Assistant or have transferable experience working with children, we would love to hear from you.
The Role:
Supporting teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
Working with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning
Assisting children with varying abilities and educational needs
Helping to create a positive, safe, and supportive learning environment
Encouraging pupil participation, confidence, and independence
Supporting classroom management and behaviour expectations
What We’re Looking For:
Previous experience working with children or young people
A positive, proactive, and nurturing approach
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
Experience within a school setting is desirable
Relevant Teaching Assistant qualifications are advantageous but not essential
