Job Description

We are currently looking for dedicated Teaching Assistants to join our team on a full-time basis, serving schools in the Porth area, encompassing high schools, primary schools, and ALN schools. In this capacity, you will offer invaluable assistance to students, whether in general cover or in one-on-one settings, aiding those who may need support focusing during lessons and ensuring they have access to additional learning resources to help them fulfil their potential.

The ideal candidate will need to utilise creative learning techniques to engage students, particularly those with socialising difficulties and additional learning needs. We highly value proactive individuals who can adeptly monitor behavioural needs and provide support to students encountering challenges such as low self-esteem.

Key prerequisites for this role include:

• A minimum of 3 months of experience working with children or a background in the care sector
• Contactable references to validate your suitability for the position
• A valid child and Adult DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance, or a willingness to undergo the necessary checks through New Directions
• A commitment to completing mandatory training when required

While we prefer candidates with at least 3 months of experience working with children or relevant qualifications, we also welcome applicants with transferable skills gained from roles in care settings.
