Second Round of the Tranmere Rovers Tournament Kicks off.

The New Directions Education team in Liverpool are looking forward to the second round of[ the Tranmere Rovers secondary girls football tournament tonight. The tournament kicks off at 4.00pm and is  hosted by Weatherhead High School.

Mike Childs Account Manager at New Directions Education commented “ I am very excited for tonight’s matches, to see who will be competing against each other in the finals on 20th November. It’s amazing seeing the all the pupils, teachers, families and friends from different communities coming together to support this tournament”

The schools taking part in the tournament are excited by the prospect of the tournament have pledged their support to their local teams:

Oldershaw  High from S. Young, PE department

Girls’ and women’s football is a fast growing area of schools’ sport. It is fantastic to see Tranmere Rovers support this activity and help to break down traditional stereotypes. Good luck to Oldershaw girls!”

The Whitby High School from Mr Parker. 

“We are very excited and looking forward to this evenings match.  Whitby High have represented Tranmere Rovers at the National Finals at Wembley before and would love to make the journey again!”

New Direction would like to wish all the teams playing in tonight tournament Good Luck and look forward to see the Winning teams from both tournament at the finals next week.
