Wrexham Teacher Training Day – A Big Success!

Posted on

On the 30th and 31st October New Directions Education in Wrexham, held a two day training course for their candidates.

The two day training involved  an in-depth session on Autism, and a physical session, on the handling of a disruptive, and potentially challenging pupils in a classroom, by using the appropriate restraints where applicable.        The training took place at the local community centre where trainees where given ample space to practice the restraint moves.

The courses proved very popular with our Teaching staff, and we are pleased to announce that we now have 15 ‘Team Teach’ and 17 ‘Autism Aware’ qualified candidates. The teaching staff will now be able to use the skills to ensure they are able to handle any situations that may arise in their classrooms.

Jenna Whittam Branch Manager at New Directions Education commented “here at New Directions we recognise the importance of ensuring that all our staff are provided with training courses to update and refresh their skills. Training also opens up new opportunities for the candidates to progress in the education sector. We pride ourselves on the high standard of training at New Directions, the feedback from candidates is extremely positive. A big well done to all our candidates!”
