About the Roles
We are currently recruiting multiple SEND Teaching Assistants to support a range of primary and secondary settings across East Leeds. These roles involve supporting pupils with a variety of needs, including:
Autism (ASC)
ADHD
Speech, Language & Communication Needs
Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH)
Complex or multiple learning needs
Positions are available on a temp‑to‑perm basis, offering a clear pathway to long‑term opportunities within supportive and inclusive school environments.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver 1:1 or small‑group support tailored to individual EHCPs
Promote engagement, confidence, and independence in learning
Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and sensory needs
Adapt activities and resources to suit different learning styles
Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and external specialists
Provide consistent, calm behaviour and emotional support
Track and report progress, engagement, and areas of need
What We’re Looking For
Experience working with children or young people with SEND (school, youth work, residential, or care backgrounds welcome)
A nurturing, patient, and resilient approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to adapt quickly and think creatively
A genuine passion for supporting young people to thrive
Training such as Team Teach, Autism Awareness, Makaton, or SEND‑specific CPD is advantageous but not essential
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
