New Directions Education are currently recruiting enthusiastic and motivated Early Career Teachers (ECTs) for primary teaching opportunities starting in September across Chester. This is an excellent opportunity for newly qualified teachers to begin their teaching career within supportive and welcoming primary schools.
We work with a range of schools offering short-term, long-term, and potential permanent opportunities, helping ECTs gain valuable experience across EYFS, KS1, and KS2 while building confidence in the classroom.
• Delivering engaging and effective lessons across the primary age range
• Creating a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
• Supporting pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development
• Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
• Planning and adapting lessons to meet the needs of all learners
• Assessing pupil progress and providing feedback where required
• Working collaboratively with teaching assistants and school staff
• Contributing to the wider school community
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be due to achieve QTS before September
• Recent teaching placement experience within a primary school setting
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• A proactive, enthusiastic, and reflective approach to teaching
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• A strong understanding of safeguarding and the primary curriculum
• A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development
