A fantastic opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable R.E Teacher to join a secondary school in St Helens from September through to Easter. This role would be well suited to a teacher who is passionate about Religious Education and can inspire pupils through engaging, thought-provoking lessons.
The successful candidate will teach R.E across KS3 and KS4, helping pupils develop their knowledge, critical thinking, and understanding of a range of religious, ethical, and philosophical topics. You will become part of a supportive school environment where high-quality teaching and positive pupil outcomes are valued.
The Role
Deliver well-planned and engaging R.E lessons across KS3 and KS4, ensuring content is accessible to pupils of varying abilities.
Develop lessons that encourage pupils to think critically, ask questions, and engage confidently with different perspectives.
Maintain a positive and purposeful classroom where pupils are motivated to participate and achieve.
Assess pupil progress and provide clear feedback to support continued academic development.
Work alongside colleagues within the department to contribute to a consistent and effective curriculum.
Build positive relationships with pupils while maintaining high expectations for behaviour and achievement.
The Ideal Candidate
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
Has experience teaching R.E at KS3 and KS4 within a secondary school environment.
Possesses strong subject knowledge and can deliver lessons that are both informative and engaging.
Is confident in managing classroom behaviour and creating an inclusive learning environment.
Is dependable, adaptable, and able to establish positive working relationships with pupils and staff.
Has a genuine enthusiasm for Religious Education and a commitment to supporting pupils’ progress.
Requirements
References covering the previous 5 years.
Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
Previous experience teaching R.E across KS3 and KS4.
Availability from September through to Easter for the duration of the placement.
