Job Description

We’re looking for a passionate SEND Teacher to join a supportive school community in Huyton, where staff are committed to helping every pupil reach their full potential. Working within a dedicated SEND environment, you’ll play a key role in delivering engaging lessons, building positive relationships and creating a classroom atmosphere where pupils feel safe, valued and motivated to succeed.

The Role:

As a SEND Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of your students. Working as part of a dedicated team, you will create a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports pupil progress, confidence and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the needs of pupils with SEND.
  • Adapt teaching strategies and resources to support differing learning needs and abilities.
  • Create and maintain a safe, inclusive and nurturing classroom environment.
  • Monitor, assess and track pupil progress effectively.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCOs, therapists and parents/carers.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching pupils with SEND, including learning difficulties, autism or complex needs, is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of inclusive teaching practices and differentiation.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A patient, compassionate and flexible approach.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
