Learning Support Assistant, Cheshire West and Chester

Job Description

New Directions Education are currently recruiting Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) for primary schools across Tarporley and the surrounding areas, with a range of flexible, short-term and long-term opportunities available.

These roles are ideal for candidates who are passionate about supporting children’s learning and development and enjoy working in a varied school environment. A driving licence would be beneficial due to the locations of some of the schools.

Due to the nature of these opportunities, candidates must be able to commit to working 3 or more days per week.

The Role:

• Supporting teachers with the day-to-day running of the classroom
• Providing 1:1 and small-group support where required
• Helping students access and engage with their learning
• Supporting students with a range of abilities and learning needs
• Assisting with interventions and learning activities
• Supporting positive behaviour and student wellbeing
• Helping prepare classroom resources and activities
• Building positive relationships with students
• Working closely with teachers and wider school staff
• Creating a positive, inclusive and nurturing learning environment

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Previous experience working with children or young people
• Experience within a school or similar child-focused setting is desirable
• A relevant Teaching Assistant or childcare qualification would be beneficial
• A patient, supportive and adaptable approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• The ability to build positive relationships with students
• A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development
• A reliable and professional approach
• A driving licence would be beneficial due to the location of some opportunities
