New Directions Education is looking for enthusiastic, caring and reliable Teaching Assistants to work in a variety of schools and educational settings across Wirral.
Whether you have previous experience working in a school or have developed transferable skills through care, support work, residential settings or youth work, we want to hear from you!
We have opportunities to support pupils across primary, secondary and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) settings, helping them to engage with learning, build confidence and reach their full potential.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you could be:
Supporting pupils in the classroom with their learning and development.
Working with children and young people across primary, secondary or SEND settings.
Providing one-to-one support or assisting small groups of pupils.
Helping to create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment.
Supporting pupils with additional needs, including social, emotional and behavioural needs.
Building positive relationships with pupils and school staff.
Encouraging independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
Who Are We Looking For?
We would love to hear from people who:
Are available to work Monday to Friday, between 8:30am and 4:00pm at the latest.
Have a caring, patient and positive approach.
Enjoy working with children and young people.
Have previous experience in an educational setting or transferable experience from care, support work, residential care, youth work or similar roles.
Have excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
Are reliable, adaptable and committed to supporting pupils’ needs.
No previous school experience? No problem! If you have experience supporting vulnerable individuals, encouraging positive behaviour or helping others develop their confidence and independence, your skills could be a great fit for a school environment.
DBS Requirements
Having an Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service would be advantageous, but it is not essential. New Directions Education can support suitable applicants through the process of applying for the appropriate DBS check.
