New Directions Education are currently recruiting a passionate and committed Forest School Leader to work in a primary school setting in Cheshire. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is enthusiastic about outdoor learning and dedicated to supporting children’s wellbeing, engagement, and personal development.
This role involves delivering a high-quality Forest School provision to primary-aged pupils, creating engaging, child-centred outdoor learning experiences that promote confidence, independence, and a love of learning.
The Role:
• Planning and delivering engaging Forest School sessions for primary pupils
• Creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating outdoor learning environment
• Supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and personal development
• Encouraging confidence, resilience, and independence through outdoor activities
• Adapting sessions to meet the needs of pupils with varying abilities
• Managing behaviour in line with school policies
• Working collaboratively with teaching staff and wider school teams
• Ensuring all health and safety procedures are followed during outdoor learning
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
• A recognised Forest School qualification
• Experience working with children, ideally within a primary school setting
• A passion for outdoor education and child development
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills
• The ability to engage and motivate pupils of varying abilities
• A proactive, reflective, and flexible approach
• A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
• A genuine commitment to supporting children’s wellbeing and development
