We are looking for compassionate and dedicated ALN Supply Teaching Assistants to support pupils with Additional Learning Needs in schools across the area. This flexible role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about making a positive difference in children’s education and wellbeing.
The Role
As an ALN Supply Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide tailored support for pupils with a range of additional learning needs. Placements may include day-to-day cover, short-term assignments, or longer-term opportunities within specialist and mainstream settings.
Responsibilities
Support pupils with Additional Learning Needs on a one-to-one basis or in small groups
Assist with learning activities tailored to individual pupil needs
Encourage pupil confidence, independence, and engagement
Help manage behaviour positively and sensitively
Support pupils with social, emotional, and communication needs
Work closely with teachers and SEN/ALN coordinators to maintain a supportive learning environment
Requirements
Experience working with children or young people with ALN/SEN is desirable
A patient, caring, and adaptable approach
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
Enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to apply for one
