Job Description

New Directions Education are recruiting inspiring, dedicated and inspirational Primary Teachers to provide cover within the Primary school setting. We work alongside some of the biggest as well as the smallest schools in the area to help with their supply/cover needs. This could be daily cover as well as long term cover and this role would suit both NQT’s and experienced teachers. We are looking for candidates to cover in Foundation Phase or Key Stage 2 or both!

We also care about our candidates and offer a variety of CPD learning opportunities and host multiple webinars/seminars during the half term breaks. Some of these are Incidental Welsh, British Sign Language, Assessment for Learning, Mindfulness and Wellbeing plus many more.

NQT’s will also benefit from our newly launched NQT Support Programme where you will also have a dedicated NQT consultant, talks/webinars from the EWC and Central South Consortium as well as valuable advice from Headteacher’s on what to expect in your NQT year, Lesson Observation tips and CV/Cover letter advise.

Job Requirements include:

  • A passion for raising student expectations and achievements
  • The ability to build strong working relationships with staff and pupils
  • The ability to remain up to date with educational developments and changes whilst undertaking the role
  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • In possession of a clear DBS with the update service and registered with the EWC

Job Specification

If you are a newly qualified teacher (NQT) or experienced Teacher, we offer roles which include delivering the curriculum in Key Stage 1 (KS1) to Key Stage 2 (KS2)

  • Teach all areas of the school curriculum or your subject specialism
  • Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
  • Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
  • Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
  • Maintain discipline
  • Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
  • Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
  • Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
  • Take part in school events and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening
  • Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools
