Job Description

New Directions Education are recruiting Key Stage One Teachers who are keen to work within the Cardiff borough.

The schools that we currently work with are committed to excellent teaching and learning which helps provide an environment where our supply teachers are able to work to their strengths. The ideal candidate should have experience of working in foundation phase and appreciate the importance of shaping the lives of young children.

New Directions are working with over 50 schools in Cardiff so if you are looking for day to day or long term supply we would love to hear from you.

The Key Stage 1 Teacher roles would suit those who have a wealth of experience as well as Newly Qualified Teachers who are looking to develop and gain new skills.

Job Specification

Your role as a Key Stage 1 (KS1) Primary Teacher in the age group of your speciality will be varied and at times challenging. But we doubt you’ll find a more satisfying career where your main objectives will be to develop the children and prepare them for the next stage.

As a Primary School Key Stage 1 Teacher you’ll be expected to:

  • Teach all areas of the school curriculum 
  • Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
  • Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
  • Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
  • Maintain discipline
  • Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
  • Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
  • Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
  • Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools.
