Job Description

We are currently recruiting School Technicians to support secondary schools across Flintshire and surrounding areas on a supply basis. This flexible, non-permanent work includes opportunities within Design & Technology, Science, and ICT departments, covering short and long-term assignments. Responsibilities may include preparing equipment and materials for lessons, maintaining resources and workspaces, supporting teaching staff, and ensuring health and safety procedures are followed. Previous experience in a school, technical, laboratory, or IT support environment would be beneficial. A full driving licence and access to transport would be advantageous due to travel between school locations.

Job Specification

New Directions Education recruits Science Technicians to assist the biology, physics and chemistry departments within schools across the UK.

You will normally work within a team of Technicians helping carry out the following tasks:

• Setting up laboratories with the necessary equipment for the lesson ahead
• Checking and testing scientific equipment
• Helping the teacher with practical demonstrations
• Interacting with pupils
• Keeping a track on chemicals and solutions
• Organising apparatus used and making sure it is stored correctly
• Observing strict Health & Safety conditions.

Candidates would ideally have a background in a school environment and have a qualification in biology, physics or chemistry to a degree (or equivalent) level.
