New Directions Education are currently recruiting for a Science Teacher to work at a well established High School in the Caldicot area starting in September. This is a part time position initially due to run until Easter, there is a strong possibility of the role extending and potentially leading to a permanent contract for the right candidate. Renowned for having the strongest Science department in the region, this role would be an excellent opportunity for both Newly Qualified Teacher’s (NQT’s) as well as more experienced practiconers.
The school itself is based in a unique Welsh rural location allowing students to study in a calm but purposeful atmosphere. The Science department are currently seeking a highly skilled teacher to provide an innovative & effective learning experience. The ideal candidate must:
Be passionate and knowledgeable, with the ability to inspire and motivate students to succeed.
Have the ability to teach up to GCSE level.
Be eligible to work in the UK.
Be in possession of a clear DBS.
If your specialism is teaching biology, physics or chemistry and you’re looking for work in a school, we may have jobs to interest you, particularly if you are a newly qualified teacher (NQT) or looking for supply teaching work.
As a Science Teacher you’ll be expected to:
Teach all areas of your subject specialism
Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools.
