The successful candidate will be a qualified Science teacher holding Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with the ability to deliver high-quality, engaging lessons across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5. They will possess excellent subject knowledge in their specialist science discipline, together with the ability to inspire and challenge students of all abilities to achieve their full potential. The candidate will demonstrate outstanding classroom management, strong organisational and communication skills, and the flexibility to adapt quickly to different school environments, making them well suited to the demands of supply teaching. They will have a secure understanding of the National Curriculum and post-16 specifications, effective assessment practices, and current safeguarding requirements, ensuring that teaching is inclusive, supportive and promotes excellent outcomes for all learners. The successful applicant will be confident in delivering practical laboratory work safely, differentiating learning to meet the needs of all students, including those with SEND and high-attaining learners, and fostering a positive learning environment built on high expectations, mutual respect and a passion for science. They will work effectively as part of a wider school team, demonstrating professionalism, reliability and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of teaching and learning.
