Job Description

New Directions Education are currently recruiting Early Career Teachers (ECTs) for primary schools across Chester and the surrounding areas, offering an excellent opportunity for recently qualified teachers looking to begin their teaching career.

These opportunities are particularly suited to teachers who have recently graduated, achieved QTS and are looking for their first teaching role. We can support you in finding opportunities to build confidence, gain valuable classroom experience and develop your teaching career.

Due to the nature of these opportunities, candidates must be able to commit to working 3 or more days per week.

The Role:

• Planning and delivering engaging lessons across the primary curriculum
• Creating a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment
• Supporting students with a range of abilities and learning needs
• Developing positive relationships with students and school staff
• Managing classroom behaviour and establishing clear expectations
• Assessing and monitoring student progress
• Adapting teaching approaches to support individual needs
• Working collaboratively with experienced teachers and support staff
• Following school policies and safeguarding procedures

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Recently completed their teacher training and be looking for their first teaching role
• A good understanding of the primary curriculum
• An enthusiastic and positive approach to teaching
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• A willingness to learn and develop as an early career teacher
• The ability to build positive relationships with students
• A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development
• A strong commitment to safeguarding
