Caretaker Required – Oldham
£15.00 per hour | PAYE | Full-Time | 8-Week Contract
New Directions are currently recruiting for a Caretaker to work within a school based in Oldham, starting Wednesday 16th September 2026.
The Role
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Caretaker to support the day-to-day maintenance, security and smooth running of the school premises.
This is an 8-week contract, working 8 hours per day on a split-shift basis:
- 6:00am – 10:00am
- 2:00pm – 6:00pm
- £15.00 per hour
- PAYE – no umbrella company
- Monday to Friday
- 8-week position
- Start date: Wednesday 16th September 2026
Key Responsibilities
- Opening and securing the school premises
- Carrying out general maintenance and repairs
- Ensuring the school site is safe, clean and well maintained
- Completing routine health and safety checks
- Assisting with the setup and movement of furniture and equipment
- Responding to site-related issues throughout the day
- Supporting the school with general caretaking and facilities duties
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience in a caretaking, maintenance or facilities role is desirable
- Practical and confident carrying out general maintenance tasks
- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently
- Good awareness of health and safety procedures
- Professional and approachable manner
- Experience working within a school environment would be advantageous
