Job Description

A specialist special educational needs school (SEN) based in Birkenhead are currently looking for a Primary SEN Teacher to join their team full-time until summer 2024. This will be teaching a mixed year group class.

The right person will:

  • Be calm, enthusiastic, and understanding
  • Have a passion for teaching and be able to demonstrate this
  • Have relevant SEN experience

Responsibilities of the role include:

– Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that align with the national curriculum
– Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation
– Build strong relationships with students, parents, and other staff members
– Take part in extracurricular activities and school events when required

As an special education needs (SEN) teacher you will need:

  • A relevant teaching qualification
  • Ideally experience working in an SEN environment
  • Recent experience in a classroom environment
  • An excellent track record
  • Good knowledge of the national curriculum
  • Strong interpersonal and people management skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work short-term and long-term
